My name is Dina DeYoung. Teaching is one of my passions! I love learning new things and helping others develop a love of learning. I am a certified teacher with 5 years of classroom teaching experience and a Master of Arts in Teaching degree.
My husband and I have been married for 15 years and we have three wonderful children. We live in the beautiful state of Oregon. I am currently enjoying the privilege of homeschooling my children. My interests include spending time with my family and friends, enjoying nature walks, reading great books and surfing the internet.

Why I LOVE Kindle!
Have you discovered this wonderful resource yet? I am so excited about it!
As a homeschool mom, I primarily use Ambleside Online for our basic curriculum. I am able to obtain numerous books in our curriculum for FREE through Project Gutenberg that I can download and store on my Kindle.
If I were to purchase all the books that I would use in one year of homeschooling (especially with three kids), I would have spent more than the cost of one Kindle.
Now I can get most of my homeschooling literature selections for free, along with a multitude of other books that I can take with me wherever I go.
I also don’t have to worry about trying to store as many books, thus cutting down on the endless clutter that comes with homeschooling materials.
Yeah!
It can hold 3,500 books!!!!!
Just think of the possibilities!!!
The Kindle store has a huge collection of ebooks that you can purchase, as well as numerous free books and links to online collections of free books. It is amazing!
There is even a FREE PC version that you can use on your computer.

I am so excited to be offering these clubs this Fall!
What is a Fanciful Fiction Challenge?
The challenge is made up of a theme for the story, the “Cardinal Cast” (person/people), the “Whimsical Whereabouts” (location) and the “Groovy Gadget” (thing/things.) Students will also be give four specific words to include at some point in their story.
For example:
Theme – Amnesia
Cardinal Cast – a cowboy with his lasso
Whimsical Whereabouts – a cruise ship
Groovy Gadget – a yo-yo
Four words: sticky, astonish, flute and falling
The kids will need to keep their story to 750 words or less. Quite a fun challenge!
All submitted entries each week will be posted anonymously on the CurrClick Live Network. Fellow club members and other members of the CurrClick Live network will vote on the entries in each age group that is the most creative and entertaining, while meeting the Challenge criteria. The winners each week will receive a certificate for their portfolios.
Following the final week of the club, all eight winning entries for each age group will be reposted for a final vote for the favorite in each age group. The winner will receive a $20 gift certificate toward the class of their choice with Apples of Gold Online Academy.
It is going to be so fun to see the uniqueness of each entry all based on the same challenge! It will also be exciting to see the growth in the creative writing skills over the course of the 8 week club. The kids will be inspired to be even more creative after reading the entries of their fellow club members.

I am very excited to be offering this live open house opportunity on Wednesday, July 7th and Friday, July 9th. You may register here to receive the link to the classroom and to download a pdf catalog of my classes.
There will be four 30 minute sessions starting at 7:00 pm CDT. You may choose to enter the classroom at 7:00pm, 7:30pm, 8:00pm, or 8:30pm. I will give a short 20 minute presentation and then have time for a Q & A. You will be given a tour of my online classroom and have the opportunity to see if online homeschool classes would be a good fit for your child.
A benefit of attending the open house will be receiving DISCOUNTS for Fall classes!
